Arctic Monkeys Seek Private Hairdresser For The Road

Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner sure has one hell of a hairdo, and now the lead vocalist and guitarist is seeking a personal hairdresser to join the band on the road to help with the upkeep of his spectacular Elvis-esque quiff.

The leader of the Sheffield indie rock outfit told Illinoise Entertainer that he has trusted barbers to tend to his hair in both in Los Angeles and in London, but the troubles start when the band hits the road:

“Sometimes I have to take a chance on somebody new when I’m in, say, Vancouver. There really should be a once-a-week cleanup on the sides, but I just don’t always have the time to do that.”

The answer? Turner joked that the quartet will need a private hairdresser to hit the road with them. Oh, and a private jet, of course:

“…hopefully, we’ll get to the point – on the way to our private jet – where we tour with our own hairdresser. That’s the next rung on the ladder. So what we really need is someone who can look after the wardrobe and cut hair – maybe I can take this opportunity to advertise for that!”

Arctic Monkeys kick off their Australian tour this May, private jet and hairdresser or not, bringing their slinky fifth studio album AM to our shores for a string of headlining shows around the country.
