ARTcoustic Thursdays at the Abercrombie

Art is often seen as Music on a Canvas, so what better idea for a Thursday evening than to bring the two together in cosmic union – blissfully intertwined, amongst the jungle like courtyard of the Abercrombie.  Truth is there have been some problems with the entertainment licence which means we can’t play loud music on school nights, but true talent always finds a way, and so we’ve chosen to showcase some of our cities finest more mellow acts, determined as ever to provide you with soul satisfying entertainment.

Secluded Records has always been about supporting the independent arts scene, and we’re looking forward to promoting the visual dimension.  We have sourced some of the finest underground artists in the city, and adorned the labyrinth-like walls upstairs with their work.  Wander at your leisure, meandering between the rich folk tunes in the courtyard, and the beautiful aesthetic of the canvases scattered around the venue.

This week it’s the incomparable Avin Jason delivering his trademark soft-core urban rhythms with doo-wup du-wup.  Killed Two Birds, One Was Stoned are unplugging the amps and stripping back the volume to reveal the undistorted beauty of their unique sound.  Bob Corbett, as on form as ever, shows once again why he remains one of the most well respected artists in the scene.

So come down and enjoy some culture.  It’s not about being pretentious, it’s about good honest creative fun.  Now and forever, Amen.
