The Avalanches Are Already Working On A New Album

It seems we won’t have to wait for than a decade for the follow-up to The Avalanches‘ second record Wildflower, with the Aussie group already working on a follow-up.

It took Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi 16 years to deliver Wildflower following on from their iconic debut Since I Left You but they’re not gonna keep us waiting that long this time around.

“In the few weeks since we’ve been home from the States, me and Tony have just been writing,” he told Sydney radio station FBi.

“It’s flowing so quickly. I think getting Wildflower out of the way and following up Since I Left You feels like a weight’s been lifted. The music is really light, it’s some of the best stuff we’ve done.”

They’ve even got eight songs that they’re going to play to their label EMI next week and have teased that it could be out as early as next year.

They’re currently in Sydney to play Vivid Sydney. They’ll play The Avalanches – Since I Left You Block Party tonight and on Sunday alongside DJ Shadow, Sampa The Great and Briggs.
