Avenged Sevenfold Post Video Commentaries For New Songs ‘Shepherd Of Fire’ & ‘Hail To The King’

Now that Avenged Sevenfold have offered their latest LP Hail To The King to fans the world over, the dudes have taken the time to add commentary to the first two tracks on the album Shepherd Of Fire and Hail To The King, throwing the footage online.

For those who have already heard those two tracks, they’ll understand there is a high level of intricacy and a vivid narrative for both. The band’s commentary adds an extra level of involvement for fans who are invited, as always, to concoct their own meanings for lyrics and music, “They’re just words, they can mean whatever you want them to mean,” as frontman M. Shadows puts it.

There is plenty of background information, though, such as the band’s mindset at the time of recording and the particular boxes they hoped each track would tick. Every note seems to be totally deliberate, with the band methodically and scientifically streamlining their sound to learn what works, and what doesn’t work. “Nothing is stepping on anything else’s toes,” explains Zachy Vengeance.

Avenged Sevenfold are set to appear in Australia next year, headlining the Soundwave 2014 lineup. You can watch both commentary videos below, and stand by for more.
