Avicii Playing 2 Sydney Shows At Marquee On Easter Weekend

In massive news, Sydney’s newest nightclub, Marquee, has just announced that Sweedish DJ Avicii will play headline shows at the venue on Easter weekend. Avicii will play 2 shows, April 7th with Grant Smillie and April 8th with Mind Electric to kick off a huge weekend for the new club.

Tickets will be available on the door on the night of the shows for $60. There will be no pre-sale tickets, meaning you will have to get there early and wait in line if you even want a chance of getting in.

Update: Tickets will be priced at $60 for both nights.

The news comes on the back of Avicii playing headline shows at one of the world’s biggest electronic music festivals, Ultra Music.

Afrojack and Redfoo from LMFAO will open the club this weekend on March 30th.

The Marquee is situated on Darling Harbour within The Star Casino’s new entertainment precinct. The venue is located on the entire top tier of The Star’s new Pirrama Road harbour side entrance and features nearly 20,000 square feet of floor space.

A few weeks ago the venue owners released a statement detailing the interior of the new venue:

The Main Room will feature a 30-foot projection stage with an LED DJ booth and two dance floors. In contrast, a stylish Library style room will offer an intimate lounge experience, accentuated by a working fireplace.

Venturing further into the venue, club-goers will come across the Boom Box, with a separate DJ, state-of-the-art sound system and outdoor patio. There is also a chill-out area with unparalleled views of the Sydney skyline and a unisex “bathroom lounge”.

Furnished with dynamic and unique interiors, the venue will have a retail store and separate VIP entrance for quick entry from street level.
