Azealia Banks Shifts Debut Album Release To 2013

One of the fastest rising stars in the hip hop game, Harlem’s Azealia Banks, has handed down news to her fans today that the release of her debut album won’t be happening until next year.

Broke With Expensive Taste was originally slated for a September 2012 release. Though no real reason was given, Banks was quick to soften the blow by sneakily letting fans know via Twitter that there will be some surprises in store for them to satisfy their cravings in the interim. Collaborations, remixes, and another EP are all on the cards as Banks promises ‘excitin ish’ offerings.

The album follows hot on the heels of her very-much-talked-about 1991 EP, which paved the way for her July mixtape Fantasea. Banks was in town earlier this year for Splendour in the Grass. Unfortunately, what was one of the most-anticipated performances of the weekend was cut short due to a lack of blessings from the tech gods.
