Behind the seams with The Jacket

Written by Toby Smith on February 20, 2009

The Jacket formed in High School as a response to the lack of major chords in their local music scene.

Described as ‘polished indie kids’ by i98 fm and ‘juvenile delinquents’ by their mothers, The Jacket are now one of Wollongong’s most exciting live bands – performing headline shows to huge crowds at venues in Sydney and their hometown.

Their tunes have been played on Triple J Radio, i98 Radio (Illawarra) and FBI Radio (Sydney), and they recently won the Wollongong leg of National Campus Band Comp.

The Jacket have shared stages with;

British India, bluejuice, the Paper Scissors, Reptiles, Former Child Stars, Ballet Imperial, Hailer, Mirrorsessions, MILD RYAN, Tennis, Inanimate Objects & the Bungalows to name a few.

If you have the time, come and see The Jacket perform live at Candys Apartment on 27th Feb…
It might not change your life, but they’ll put on a damn good show.

Also playing are Sherlocks Daughter and News Hawks, doors open 8pm.
