Australian legends Bernard Fanning and Kasey Chambers have announced that they’ll be heading out on the road together early next year.
The pair will play a number of regional dates across the country as part of the Sooner Or Later tour, named after the song from Fanning’s latest album Civil Dusk which Chambers features on.
While Powderfinger operated in the rock world and Chambers in the country world, both of them have crossed paths multiple times leading to them collaborating over the past few years. On top of Sooner Or Later, Fanning co-wrote Bittersweet, the title track of Chambers’ 2014 record.
As well as collaborating, they’ve been busy working on their own projects. Fanning released Civil Dusk earlier this year and will drop another record Brutal Dawn next year.
Chambers just released an EP Ain’t No Little Girl featuring another country music name, Keith Urban.
“We have been having such a ball playing on each other’s records and guesting at each other’s shows over the last ten years that we finally decided to take it on the road,” Fanning says of the tour.
Chambers echoes a similar sentiment, saying, ““Bernard and I have collaborated musically on and off over the past ten years and after being asked the question about a double tour for a long time I’m so happy to say it’s finally here!”
