Two mates were brought face to face with kismet, as well the members of Destiny’s Child and a stretch Hummer’s worth of stars when they decided to have a midnight karaoke session at Sing Sing Karaoke in South Beach, Miami, and their booth was gatecrashed by Beyonce and Kelly Rowland.
As the bar’s owner Kellie Pilicer told the Miami New Times, the night after Beyonce’s child’s birthday, the Carter-Knowles crew, including husband Jay-Z, Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and reportedly Timbaland, rocked up to the bar in three black SUVs.
“A big security-looking guy walked in and asked us what time we closed,” said Pilicer. “I’m thinking he’s going to come in with maybe a couple of other people and then all of a sudden…one woman comes up and asks me where the bathroom is and I look up and it’s freaking Beyonce.”
Meanwhile, two girls — their third mate passed out on the couch — were continuing a six-hour karaoke marathon that was fuelled by Miami Long Islands. They were in the middle of a rendition of Beyonce’s Party when, following the familiar sounds, Beyonce popped her head in the door.
Rowland followed in and while the girls had never met nor did they recognise the two gatecrashers who just entered their booth, they invited them to come in and dance with them. “Oh, you look like Kelly Rowland” one of them said, before looking to Beyonce and exclaiming, “Oh my god!”
Beyonce and Rowland took the time to pose for a photo with the duo’s passed-out mate, before the story the pair will be telling for years really got underway, when Jay-Z and the rest of the power-couple’s entourage joined the group. All while the third friend presumably remained unconscious.
