It’s been three long years since the release of Big Scary‘s last album Not Art but we can all breathe a sigh of relief with the news that we won’t be waiting much longer for their third album Animal.
The Aussie duo will release Animal on 2nd September which is 92 days away but, hey, who’s counting?
They have revealed the news alongside a brief teaser for the album which features the pair tinkering away in the studio with Tom Iansek laying down angelic vocals and Jo Syme drumming ferociously.
There are little snippets of new music in there but it’s really too early to tell which direction they’re heading in with this record.
Big Scary released a single Organism last year and that’s expected to be on the record. They also played a few new songs while touring with Laneway Festival this year.
Despite all this excellent news, we’re not sure what we’re going to hear before the album drops in September. For now we just have to be pleased with the fact we have a date for a new album that we can hold them to.
If it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since you’ve heard Iansek’s voice that’s probably because it hasn’t. His record as #1 Dads About Face went gangbusters following its release in 2014 and saw him sell out show after show on national tours.
He’s hung up the #1 Dads hat for the moment and is back in Big Scary mode.
Check out the two minute album teaser for Animal below and get excited for September.
