Billboard Awards 2012 Winners

Written by Alex Langlands on May 21, 2012

America’s official music association, Billboard, held their annual awards ceremony last night, which included visits from the likes of LMFAO, Justin Bieber, Far East Movement, and an assortment of artists who you wished didn’t exist. The ceremony took place in Las Vegas and featured tributes to Whitney Houstan, Donna Summer and of course, Beastie Boys Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch. With some questionable awards and recipients, the ceremony seemed to go off without any major situation, aside from the shocking number of awards given to LMFAO, who claimed six awards. Thankfully they were not the big winners of the night. The world’s new favourite songstress, Adele, took home a solid twelve trophies to add to her cabinet, which is already overflowing. Coldplay triumphed over Foo Fighters and The Black Keys in the battle for Top Rock and Top Alternative Artist, and unsurprisingly Top Rock Song was awarded to this year’s summer anthem, Pumped Up Kicks. The full list of awards is available below:
