Amidst recent news that Biz Markie will be joining in on the Yo Gabba Gabba live show as part of Vivid 2011, the legendary Beastie Boys collaborator has announced he will be playing his own headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne this June.
Known as the saddest gangsta, he broke into the scene back in 1985, gaining fame with his song Just A Friend. He’s recently been popping up regularly on Yo Gabba Gabba, a bizzare children’s to the uninitiated, performing Biz’s Beat of the Day, hence the visit as part of Vivid.
However, if you ask me, my favourite of his appearances is on fellow twisted children’s show Adventure Time. Just sayin.
