Black Flag Release ‘Down In The Dirt’, First New Music In 23 Years

One of the two recently reunited Black Flag outfits has made the first move in the rush to release new material. Fronted by Ron Reyes, this version of the seminal punk outfit have dropped their latest single Down In The Dirt and even better, they’ve offered it up for free download.

The move isn’t without a cheeky jab at their rivals either, with a post-script statement on their website assuring fans that this Black Flag is “not to be confused with the ‘fake’ FLAG band currently covering the songs of Black Flag in an embarrassingly weak “mailing it in” fashion.” That group would be the one fronted by Keith Morris performing with a crack-team of punk rockers under the moniker of FLAG.

Reyes and gang have been moving quickly to finish up their brand new album. Earlier in the year they popped their head up from their studio black hole to reveal they were applying the finishing touches to their new record, which has been slated for a 2013 release.
