Blink-182 Fan Hospitalised After Concert Balcony Fall

A fan has been hospitalised after falling from a balcony at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on the night of 7th November, during a concert by Californian alt-punk idols Blink-182 .

TMZ is reporting that the male fan landed face-first after falling from the balcony, which supposedly stands 15-20 feet high. A witness told TMZ that the incident happened during the song Dammit, the band’s final song of the night, and that the impact made the “gnarliest splat on the ground… I can still hear the sound. It was awful”. Luckily, the fan didn’t fall onto anyone else, and he was responsive immediately after the incident.

The fan, who is yet to be named, is reportedly a “dear friend” of the band. He was covered in blood after his fall and was taken to a local hospital, where he is currently being treated. What remains unclear is just how the man fell, as well as the true extent of his injuries. Blink-182 have been in touch with the man’s family. Let’s hope he pulls through.

Blink are in the middle of a five-show run in which they’re playing their untitled 2003 album in full. The band also recently confirmed that they’ll have new material out in mid-2014, after returning in 2011 with the album Neighbourhoods.
