Another new Splendour rumour has come about today; this time Bloc Party are being thrown in as a possible band to appear on this year’s line-up at the new (old) location at Belongil Fields in Byron Bay.
The band’s guitarist Russell Lissack sent out a tweet last night saying:
@TheJ_Russ: “Can’t stop listening to @lastdinosaurs album, check it out. Best guitar work i’ve heard in a long time Looking fwd to crossing paths soon ;)”
Last Dinosaurs are likely to be at Splendour In Grass this year, with their track Zoom appearing in a trailer for the 2012 festival, a good clue that they should be appearing. Bloc Party have appeared at Splendour 3 times before, and Kele Okereke was out here last year performing solo.

Bloc Party are currently working on their 4th studio album after a brief hiatus, and will be playing shows again this year including a MELT! Festival appearance in Germany roughly a fortnight before Splendour In The Grass 2012.
