It has now been confirmed, straight from the horses mouth – well, as close to as it needs to be, that the recently reunited Blur will be touring Australia.
As Poll Star have it, Ian Huffam of X-Ray Touring, who has successfully booked the band for shows at the Primavera Sound festivals in Spain and in Portugal, has stated that “Blur is planning a relatively extensive world tour next year, including Europe, Japan, South America and Australia,”
As legend has it, the European dates will probably run mid their summer as they are also confirmed for a slot at Rock Werchter, which kicks off July 4. So there are no further deatils on this one, but as the band posted on their Facebook page “More as we know it…” So hang tight.
Hype around a big tour went into overdrive after the band performed at the Olympic closing ceremony. The international demand must have been overwhelming after a string of confirmed shows in their homeland. Stay tuned for more.
