Blur, New Order & The Specials Will Play Olympics Closing Ceremony

Written by Michael Carr on February 21, 2012

As you can see from the poster above, Blur are making their second scheduled appearance of 2012 at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics, of all places, following on from their upcoming performance at The Brit Awards this week. The news also comes off the back of guitarist Graham Coxon‘s announcement earlier this month that the band would be recording a new record together, Coxon joining singer and Gorrilaz founder Damon Albarn recently at the War Child Benefit to perform a new song written by the duo called Under The West Way, which you can watch below. These shows are the first the band have played together since their reunion back in 2009.

The closing ceremony show, which will also feature The Specials and New Order, is free entry, although registration is required.
