Break Even Announce Reunion Tour, Share New Track ‘Young & Bright’

Perth band Break Even have regrouped to tour once more, backed by new track Young & Bright. The hardcore outfit, who disbanded in 2012, have locked in a huge tour which will see them on the road throughout February and into early March next year. What’s more, a follow-up to 2009 album The Bright Side is in the works.

Break Even’s 15-date tour sees the band play a combination of both 18+ and all ages shows around the country next year, following their previously announced appearance at Gippsland’s UNIFY Gathering in January.

Young & Bright (below) got its debut on Stu Harvey’s final Short.Fast.Loud show last night. The band say in a press release, “We wrote the song with a sense of nostalgia about everything we had been through as not only a band, but as people; how those experiences have impacted our lives.

“Sadly, Break Even ended abruptly so we never had the chance to thank everyone the way we wanted to… Young & Bright is a thank you song to everyone who has supported our music, us as people, and us as a band over the years. 2015 will see Break Even release the record we never got to finish. Without your loyalty and support we wouldn’t be who and where we are today. Thank you.”

Break Even’s I’d Rather Be Giggin’ 2015 tour begins in Byron Bay on Friday, 6th February, with support slots from Hopeless, Endless Heights and Postblue. Break Even have also teamed up with Australian youth mental health organisation headspace, to help raise awareness of mental health within the music community throughout the tour.
