Brissie’s favourite weekend sleepover Red Deer Music & Arts Festival is returning in 2017 for another romp, and it’s just dropped a top-notch lineup.
This year’s BYO bash will be headlined by Aussie faves The Preatures and The Kite String Tangle, who top a lineup of locals which also features surf quartet Band Of Frequencies, alt-rock groovers Shag Rock, neo-roots trio The COOL CALM and dirty-dance duo Mezko.
The “astronomical” first announcement of acts also compliments this year’s “space oddity” theme, with punters encouraged to dress up on the day.
“We always strive to curate a line-up that’s musically diverse, featuring artists of national acclaim as well as shining a light on both local and interstate emerging talent,” says festival co-founder Bas Pelly.
“This year’s festivalgoers, or ‘astronauts’ if you will, can look forward to beautiful ballads, energetic roots, and rollicking tunes, before The Kite String Tangle and The Preatures bring the house down with two very different, entertaining sets.”
Red Deer Music & Arts Festival 2017 will stage its seventh annual adventure on Saturday, October 14th at Mount Samson, with regular crowd-pleasers including Fashions On The Field, sack races, art installations, food trucks, BYO booze and couches all making a comeback.
