Busta Rhymes Names New Album ‘Year Of The Dragon’

Rap star Busta Rhymes has confirmed that he’s working on his ninth album – dropping the title of the record yesterday via his Twitter feed (see below).

Year of the Dragon will be Busta’s ninth studio album and his first record since 2009’s Back on My B.S.  HipHopDX believe the album title is “a reference to one of Busta’s monikers, the Dungeon Dragon,” that is also a reference to A Tribe Called Quest’s song Scenario, which Rhymes also appears on.  Coincidently, it’s also currently the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese zodiac calendar.

The news of Ryhmes’ new album has got us in the mood of revisiting some of his more famous hits – and wondering if he’ll be able to knock out a few more corkers this time around.  Have a bounce along to the Break Ya Neck video below and try and keep up with what he’s saying in the verses:

Complex reported that Ryhmes will release the album – Year of the Dragon – via Google Music/YMCMB and his own label The Conglomerate later this year, with the album cover to be revealed shortly as well.
