Though it hasn’t been confirmed, Feeds has done the adding up for you and it’s looking good for Cat Power to steal the show at next year’s Laneway Festival.
Word has come through from triple j that Chan Marshall, aka Cat Power, will be coming Down Under from her hometown of Atlanta for a series of headlining dates. “I just confirmed it,” she told the station “The last Australian date is February 9th, that’s all I know.”
So this isn’t Feeds just pulling something out of thin air, there is somewhat of a method behind our madness. Earlier today Laneway organisers let it be known via Twitter that the ladies will in fact be stealing the show next year, hint hint. So when you put that with the fact that last year Laneway Festival wrapped up Feb 12, which, if you ask us, is a little too close to just be a coincidence.
Cat Power’s latest studio effort Sun is the artist’s 9th album and is expected to drop later this week. Richard Kingsmill will be chatting to the songstress this coming Sunday.
