Cat Power will return to Australia next year for an extensive Australian tour behind her ninth studio album, 2012’s Sun. Already a part of Golden Plains’ 2013 lineup, Cat Power will perform twice at Perth Festival, along with a string of headlining shows across the country.
The news comes shortly after Cat Power, real name Charlyn Marshall, postponed her upcoming European tour. At first there were concerns that the European tour would be cancelled altogether due to health concerns and financial troubles.
Fans were relieved when a few days later Cat Power tweeted that the tour would go ahead but without any elaborate stage production in order to save on costs. Marshall was then forced to announce that the tour would be postponed due to her ongoing battle with the skin condition Angioedema, which can affect the throat, windpipe and tongue and had caused Marshall to be hospitalised on numerous occasions.
