Catholic College Radio Bans Offensive Band Names…And The Biebs

A staff member from Catholic college radio station WSOU (89.5 FM) has provided us with some serious LOLs to see out an otherwise dreary Tuesday afternoon. According to Reddit, it appears that Seton Hall Catholic College in the States has a pretty broad definition of ‘offensive’, making for a rather eclectic list of banned artists.

Of course, the usual suspects Anal Cunt and Fullblown Aids are included, but it also appears that should a presenter spin some Fall Out Boy, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and a couple of other pop acts, they will be (Taylor) Swiftly terminated. See what I did there? All jokes aside, Swift didn’t appear on the list. But Nickelback does.

As outlined in the below image, any band that has the words “Devil, Satan, God, Jesus or any other Catholic references that are portrayed in a negative light” are a serious no-go while on air but I don’t understand why Goatwhore should be victims, or Bongzilla for that matter. I mean, c’mon – even Aborted Fetus need some radio love every once in a while.

Some of the bands that made the list probably should have thought the whole name sitch through a little more, and while Cuntsaw, Rhino Clit and Adolf Satan might be catchy at first, you’re not going to get much exposure.

Take a look at the full list below.
