Having welcomed in 2011 by playing two massive shows with Brisbane’s Sunset Sounds and the AusSounds Australia Day Concert, Charlie Mayfair are well and truly warmed up for another great year.
February will see the band embark on their biggest mission yet; a weekly interstate trek for their Sydney residency at the Oxford Art Factory. The free shows see Charlie Mayfair take the role as main support as they join Sydney locals Phatchance and Coptic Soldier who will perform a joint set to celebrate their individual new releases.
The unlikely trio of performers came to be after Phatchance discovered Charlie Mayfair on triple j’s Unearthed site. Falling in love their vocal harmonies, he contacted the band and the friendship lead to them eventually leading vocals to tracks on both Phatchance and Coptic Soldier tracks.
The residency shows will take place each Friday from February 11 for the remainder of the month. Featuring unique collaborations, each week is sure to take some different turns – Atlas B Salvensen will round out the weekly line-up.
