UPDATE 31/08/16 10:55am AEST: Chris Brown has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, following a lengthy standoff with police.

ORIGINAL STORY: Troubled RnB star Chris Brown has been involved in a standoff with police at his home in Los Angeles after he allegedly pulled a gun on a woman.

As TMZ reports, police, including a SWAT team, arrived at Brown’s residence around 3am local time, but didn’t enter the premises as they waited for a search warrant. It appears that Brown has come out of the house now, at 2:30pm local time, wearing a red hat. He is not in handcuffs.

Brown is believed to have thrown a duffel bag out of a window at some point during the standoff, which police reportedly say contained at least one gun, other weapons and drugs.

It isn’t clear what the alleged gun-related incident between Brown and a woman entailed, but it appears that Brown was holding a small gathering at his house when two uninvited women turned up. Brown allegedly pulled a gun on them when they refused to leave, and one of the women then contacted police.

Brown’s crew has been filing out of the house in the last few hours, while Ray J, who was supposedly in attendance, was briefly detained upon leaving. He was released, but police have reportedly kept his car for evidence.

During the standoff, Brown uploaded a series of videos to Instagram (below) in which he taunted police and the media, all while trying to somehow promote his music.

Brown’s camp is reportedly saying that he was asleep during the time of the alleged incident.

Catch a live stream from Brown’s residence below, alongside the videos he’s posted to Instagram. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
