Chris Brown Slapped With Hit-And-Run Charges

Serial hazard and sometime pop singer Chris Brown has found himself in trouble with the law again, being charged with a misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving without a valid license following an incident in California’s San Fernando Valley on 21st May.

But Brown claims the whole thing is a beat-up, posting a string of tweets denying the charges and suggest that the victim only went to the police because she wants money. Brown went as far as to change his profile photo to one of the scene of the accident in an attempt to clear his name and wrote “NO damage. Just a dirty car. once again, I gotta clear my name.”

If convicted, Brown could serve up to 1 year in jail and the new charges may effect the felony probation that Brown serves after assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Brown’s arraignment is set for 15th July.

This wasn’t the first bad news of the week for the 24-year-old singer, who was also accused of pushing a woman in a Los Angeles nightclub so violently that he caused injuries that required surgery. Deanna Gines, also 24, claimed Brown intentionally shoved her, leading to torn knee ligaments, but Brown, his management and the nightclub have all denied the incident took place.
