Chugg Entertainment Combines Powers With Homebake Festival

It’s all happening over at the Chugg Entertainment HQ. Earlier this week, the touring powerhouse confirmed that they would be trying their hand at the EDM market for the first time ever. We now know that Chuggy will be teaming up with the all-Aussie (usually with a bit of Kiwi) festival bash Homebake.

Changes will be made immediately with the 2012 instalment of the brand well on its way. You can expect to see a new and improved festival this year, which is sure to raise the bar for all festivals throughout the land. This won’t be the first time that Chugg Entertainment combines forces with the top dogs behind Homebake Music, Film, Comedy & Arts Festival; IMC; and Village Sounds. The companies have previously worked together on events such as Wave Aid (2005), Live Earth (2007) and Sound Relief (2009).

Commenting on the move, which many have seen as a long time coming, Michael Chugg stated: “I am so excited about this. With all the amazing home-grown talent in this country, Homebake has always been at the forefront of celebrating the incredible Australian and New Zealand music on offer. Right now in the live market our local acts are doing a strong business, in some cases even better, than some international acts, so it’s a great time to get involved. There is so much love for this festival and we just can’t wait.”

This year’s event is for one reason or another headlined by Blondie (full lineup right here), the first non-Aussie to fill the big spot. The festival has come a long way since its humble starts in the Byron Bay of 1996. Next year will be big 1-8 for the brand, which is surely only going to deliverer bigger and better things following the new partnership.
