Hailing from our nations humble capital, Citizen Kay is quickly outgrowing his local hip-hop scene. Now a highly rotated artist on triple J with an EP on its way, it’s time for Citizen Kay to kick things up a notch and get the show on the road.
The maiden and title track off the EP, Yes!, has proven to be a highly effective introduction for the burgeoning rapper. Bringing the best of Lupe and Kanye but with the hard driven ethos of Australian hip-hop, it’s something we haven’t experienced before, but we sure as hell dig it. Reaching the masses this Friday, 26th April, his ever-growing fan base and national tastemakers are eager to see how this rising star further explores his sound.
Straight off the back of the release, Kay will be bringing it to you live as he gigs up and down the east coast this coming May. Not only will he be performing at Groovin The Moo Canberra, but Kay will also be joining Brooklyn’s sensational Matt & Kim for their run of sideshows, capping things off in his own style with a residency at Sydney’s Beresford and headlining shows in Melbourne, and ACT.
