CJ Shaw Showcases New Band The Blow Ins at The Bald Faced Stag

On the 25th of September 2009 at the Bald Faced Stag, CJ Shaw will be showcasing his new and much talked about ensemble CJ Shaw and the Blow Ins, which will be the first time he has ever performed with a full band. Fans will be treated to an set of new tracks from his yet to be released, epic Australian tour album entitled the Cootamundra Coup, a collection of songs written about the many misadventures he and co-writer (Maddog) Dave Perram experienced on the road during their recent tour of regional Australia, along with a few old favourites.

The band’s line-up is surprising to say the least. He and Maddog have been performing together for the last three years, but they have now employed the talents of three members from the Foreign Electric – an electro-pop band no less! These are Simon Wegman, Drew Aaron and Sam Rice (former bass player of Tinderbox). The result is pure gold and each track has its own unique flavour, brought about by this eclectic mix of talented musicians.

CJ Shaw is one of Australia’s most entertaining and forward-thinking country musicians. Over the past ten years he has moved from strength to strength, performing regularly, be it weekly residencies, regional tours or festivals overseas and in both Sydney and Melbourne and his wit and charisma on stage have endeared him to many a hardened cynic.

The night promises to hold something for every type of punter and will kick off at 8pm with three very different solo artists; Belinda Campbell, Pal Sheldon and Dan Shepherd. The Blow Ins will begin at a respectable 9:45pm. Door is $10.
