Coachella 2013 Returns For Two Weekends – Dates Announced

As expected Coachella will return again in 2013, copying the same two weekend format that they introduced this year. The aim is to produce identical events with the same lineup, art and location. Of course it’s never going to be exactly identical, and when you drop crazy things like introducing the hologram of a dead musician, it kind of ruins the next weekend’s surprise.

The dates have also been announced for next year, this time being held on April 12-14, 2013 and April 19-21, 2013. While ticket prices will rise (or drop with the fluctuating Australian-American exchange rate), with a pre-sale weekend pass now $315 (a $34 rise from this year’s event).

This year’s event hosted a pretty impressive lineup, with The Black Keys, Radiohead and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg headlining; Swedish House Mafia, Bon Iver, At The Drive In, and Pulp sub-headlining; and other picks like our own Gotye, The Shins, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Bon Iver, Arctic Monkeys, Santigold and The Hives.

If you’re interested in making the trip to the Californian desert next year, pre-sale tickets go on sale on Friday, 18th May at 3am (Australian East Standard Time) from the festival’s official website — no bands will be announced on this date, so it’s your own luck whether or not you like the line-up when it gets announced some time later on this year.
