Coldplay To Take A Year Off

Pop/rock giants Coldplay are preparing to take a year off, at least that’s the word from Diffuser. Currently in the midst of their year-long tour behind the band’s latest record Mylo Xyloto, Coldplay will finish up their current tour commitments before reportedly taking a year off for rest and recreation.

During the band’s downtime, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin will apparently be relocating from the UK to Los Angeles so that his wife, famed actor Gwyneth Paltrow, can be closer to her mother. “Chris and Gwyneth have wanted to move to Los Angeles for a while,” says an unnamed source that spoke to Radar Online, “Gwyneth spends a lot of time between the U.K. and the U.S. and she’s exhausted. The purpose of buying the lavish home in Brentwood (reportedly a $10.45 million mansion) was to make that a semi-permanent base.”

The mysterious source, perhaps unidentified due to lack of existence, adds, “Gwyneth spends a lot of time away from her mum, Blythe, and wants to be closer to her as she gets older,” adds the source. “Chris was very understanding and is willing to give living in Los Angeles a chance because he’s always loved the city.”

Whatever the case, one thing is for sure: Coldplay will be in Australia for a national tour this November. Earlier in the year Marin expressed his enjoyment of visiting Australia and assured fans they can expect a massive show.

“We can’t wait to get back to Australia this November. It’s such a special place for us. These venues are pretty huge, the Aussie crowds are always incredible and we’ll be bringing everything we’ve got. It’s going to be big,” said Martin.
