Columbus Postpone Australian Tour After Member Departs

Some sad news for fans of Brissie rockers Columbus today — they’ve just announced the departure of bassist Ben Paynte and postponed their album tour.

The trio only just released their new LP A Hot Take On Heartbreak two weeks ago, and had planned to kick off a celebratory tour across the nation this month.

But instead, they’ve decided to put the shows on ice and take a brief hiatus to get themselves in the “right headspace”.

Their full statement reads:

Hi everyone,

We regret to announce Ben’s departure from the band.

Unfortunately this means we have also taken the decision to postpone our upcoming headline tour.

We want to be in the right headspace when we perform and ensure we are able to provide you with the show you deserve.

As a result we will take a short break to get ourselves right but will announce new dates as soon as possible.

We are sorry for the change in plans and apologise to everyone who has already purchased tickets. Refunds will be available from the point of purchase.

Thanks everyone for their ongoing love and support, especially following the release of our new album.

We will be back soon.

Alex and Dan

Good luck, lads. We’ll be here waiting when you get back.
