Corey Taylor Slams Grammys For Disrespecting Metallica

Outspoken Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor is a well-known critic of the Grammys and has now unleashed on the awards for the way they “disrespected” Metallica.

During the 2017 award show last month a technical mishap saw James Hetfield become furious when he realised his mic wasn’t switched on in the middle of his performance with Lady Gaga.

“I feel bad for Metallica,” Taylor told the ETC Show. “At this point in their career they shouldn’t have been disrespected like that.”

Taylor also traced the stuff up back to the fact that television performances and award shows like the Grammys provide their own sound producers and don’t allow bands to work with their own people. “They have a sound producer and a whole crew of people who work on those shows and then your people work right behind them but you’re not allowed to touch anything which is horse shit — because stuff like this then happens,” he said.

He wasn’t finished there, also addressing the fact that Laverne Cox neglected to mention Metallica’s name when introducing them. “The fact that then they weren’t introduced,” Taylor said. “It was just oh here’s Lady Gaga… Oh by the way… she’s fucking with Metallica you dick.” Cox has since apologised via Twitter.
