Crystal Castles Australian Tour 2013 – Big Day Out Sideshows

Written by Kiel Egging on September 18, 2012

It’s impossible not to be in love with the fiercely uncompromising Crystal Castles.

And those who do indeed love the Canadian electro duo – Ethan Kath and Alice Glass – are sure to be in ecstasy with the news that they’ll be playing two big sideshows in January as part of their visit to Australia for Big Day Out 2013.

The band will be getting clubs in Melbourne and Sydney shaking as they bring their unique live shows to life in intimate surroundings. Joining them in both cities will be Ballarat-based dance/popsters and triple j favourites Gold Fields.

CC will be playing material from their two eponymous albums – both of which have received critical acclaim from all corners of the music world. They’re also gearing up to release their third album later this year, so there’s a good chance these shows will see them show off one or two new songs.

Already, the band have dropped their first single Plaque, which NME have boldly described as “dangerous, demented and utterly thrilling”.

Tickets for Crystal Castles’ BDO sideshows go on sale this Friday, September 21 at 9am from http://www.bigdayout.com.

Crystal Castles – Big Day Out 2013 Sideshows:

Thursday, January 17 – The HiFi Bar, Sydney
Tuesday, January 22 – Billboard, Melbourne
