Daft Punk Unveil New Song ‘Get Lucky’ At Coachella

Not on the Coachella bill? No worries! Daft Punk made an appearance at the festival anyway, via a new teaser trailer for their upcoming album Access Random Memories. The just-under-2-minute clip features our first extended look at the song Get Lucky and was shown on the main stage on the first day of Coachella, just before Yeah Yeah Yeahs played. You can check it out below.

Get Lucky features a rather sparkly Pharrell Williams singing lead vocals and Chic‘s Nile Rodgers on guitar, in front of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo on guitar and drums. It’s a funky track with a disco vibe that still retains that signature Daft Punk feel. It’s the song we’ve heard snippets of in the SNL teaser adverts, and instead of sating our need for new Daft Punk, it’s just left us here at Music Feeds hanging out for more.

Following the song, a roll call of the names of Random Access Memories collaborators flashed on the Coachella screen, confirming the previously leaked guestlist featuring Julian Casablancas, Panda Bear, and Paul Williams to be the real deal.

Daft Punk sure know how to tease: the video created more buzz at Coachella than many of the bands playing live, and fired up rumours that the French duo might make an appearance before the festival wraps up tomorrow night.

Random Access Memories will be released in Australia on 17th May.
