Dave Grohl & His Mum Are Teaming Up To Produce A TV Show About Rock Stars’ Mums

Dave Grohl has joined forces with his dear old mum for the ultimate family project.

The pair are teaming up to bring Dave’s mum’s book of interviews with other famous musos’ mums — all about being the mums of famous musos — to the small screen.

Virginia Hanlon Grohl’s 2017 literary debut, From Cradle To Stage: Stories From The Mothers Who Rocked And Raised Rock Stars was a smash in the book world, and now she and her baby boy Dave are executive-producing the TV adaptation.

As Variety reports, the series will feature interviews with the mothers of Pharrell, Adam Levine, Tom Morello, and more—as well as Virginia Grohl’s personal stories and family snaps.

“I’m excited to introduce the viewing public to the strong, loving women who have supported the insistent dreams of their musical sons and daughters,” Mama Grohl said in a statement (via Pitchfork).

While her Foo Fighter son added: “I’m beyond excited to join in on the next step of my mother’s project to explore the stories of other musicians who were as fortunate as me, having been raised by such amazing women. Plus…I owe her one.”

It comes after Virginia Grohl embarrassed Dave last year by revealing his primary school report card on live TV on Colbert (watch below).

While we wait for the series to air, you can catch Dave Grohl’s beloved mumsy speaking live at BIGSOUND 2018 in Brisbane later this year.
