Deadmau5’s New Album Has A Title, Release Date And Artwork

The man in the mouse helmet, Deadmau5, has revealed a release date and artwork for his forthcoming seventh studio album, While (1. According to his official website, the new record will drop internationally on June 17th and is available for pre-order on May 20th via iTunes.

According to NYEDM, the name While (1, is a kind of inside-programming joke which means ‘to loop indefinitely’, or in this case listen to indefinitely. Earlier this year, the man beneath the helmet, Joel Zimmerman, told his Twitter followers that he had finished recording a new double record consisting of “2 discs. 2 continuous mixes. 25 tracks”.

Deadmau5 has said that While (1 will feature “fresh stuff that’s going to attract new fans”, as well as “a couple of tracks that are quite radio-friendly, not even dance music, that [I’m] going to put out as singles.” The same NYEMD post also revealed the album artwork.

Deadmau5 has been dropping hints about While (1 for months now. In a interview with Rolling Stone last May, he revealed that demo track Satellite featured guest vocals from his fiancee Kat Von D and last month, he tweeted that this was the first record that was put together like a cohesive album, rather than just a collection of tracks.
