Deafheaven Announce First Ever Australian Tour 2014

In the year that San Francisco metal project Deafheaven silenced all detractors with their dizzying, critically-lauded epic Sunbather, the group have now announced that their relentless touring schedule will see them play their first ever Australian shows in January 2014.

After crafting one of the year’s most accomplished metal albums, Deafheaven launched a full-fledged assault on their fans. The band’s live performances see the group transforming their 11-minute epics into “short, visceral exorcisms” that resound and thunder as much as their records.

Fans in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth will get the chance to experience the immense walls of noise raised by Deafheaven when they kick off their first Australian tour in January at Brisbane’s Crowbar, clearing the East Coast before a final date at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel.

UPDATE: Deafheaven have announced a string of local support acts for their upcoming Australian live debut. Tickets are still available for the acclaimed metal band’s first Aussie tour and as theMusic.com.au reports, the San Francisco unit will be joined by some awesome opening bands.

Joining the band for their Brisbane leg will be natives Hope Drone and Gold Coast’s The Matador. In Sydney, they’ll be joined by locals Adrift For Days and Germ. Whitehorse and Thrall will join the band in Melbourne, with Tangled Thoughts Of Leaving and Drohtnung opening in Perth.
