Death Of Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington Confirmed As Suicide

The death of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington has been confirmed as a suicide by the Los Angeles County coroner.

According to details published by the coroner, Bennington died at his LA home on Thursday, 20th July, and his death has been ruled a suicide by hanging. He was 41 years old.

Following Bennington’s death, his longtime bandmate Mike Shinoda took to Twitter to say, “Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true. An official statement will come out as soon as we have one.”

Fellow Linkin Park member Joe Hahn has since taken to Instagram to share a photo of Bennington (below), along with the caption, “Always shining. I miss my friend.”

Bennington played his final show with Linkin Park in Birmingham, England on 6th July. The band were also reportedly in talks to tour Australia in 2018 prior to Bennington’s death, but have since cancelled their upcoming tour of North America.
