Having spent the better part of the past 12 months holed up in a London studio, Sydney indie heroes Deep Sea Arcade have announced that they will be heading home just in time for the release of their brand-new single Black Cat, which will be supported by a national run of headlining shows.
The full-length sophomore release from the band has a tentative release date of early 2014, and already the buzz is beginning to build. The record has the daunting task of following on from their internationally successful 2012 album Outlands, though one listen to Black Cat and it becomes apparent that the band has done it again.
This time around, the band worked with acclaimed producer Dan Grech-Margueray who has left his mark on releases from high profile artists such as Lana Del Rey, The Vaccines, Howling Bells and The Kooks, so we can surely expect a world-class affair for album number two.
Off the back of the international demand that followed the release of Outlands, Deep Sea Arcade found themselves being invited to some of the world’s most prestigious festivals including Barcelona’s Primavera Sound Festival, The Great Escape in Brighton, Liverpool Sound City, Berlin Independent Night, Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg. The band have also toured with the likes of Modest Mouse, Kaiser Chiefs and High Flying Birds.
Deep Sea Arcade are sure to be returning in the finest form we’ve seen yet, so won’t want to miss this new tour. Joining the band in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane will be Hey Geronimo. Ticket for all shows will be available via http://www.deepseaarcade.com and http://www.chuggentertainment.com
