Delta Goodrem has claimed she hadn’t heard of the song that Arcade Fire fans reckon she “totally ripped off” for her new single.
The Voice judge told news.com.au at a Swisse Vitamins event earlier this week that she wasn’t inspired by the Canadian band and their song Rebellion (Lies) when she was writing her current hit Sitting on Top of the World.
“I hadn’t heard of Rebellion (Lies) until that moment and then I checked it out and was blown away”, she said.
“They’re incredible. I think the whole thing was a bit of a storm in a teacup.”
Earlier this month, Goodrem came under fire from Arcade Fire fans – especially ex-Gerling member Darren Cross – who believe the opening riff of Sitting on Top of the World is freakishly similar to that of Rebellion (Lies).
