Dinosaur Jr’s J Mascis’ Guitar Stolen

Written by Kiel Egging on October 14, 2012

Dinosaur Jr. guitarist J Mascis is calling for help after one of his much-loved guitars was stolen earlier this week.

Consequence of Sound reports that a status was posted on the band’s Facebook page, saying the guitar – a Squier Jazzmaster – was stolen following one of the band’s shows in Oregon, USA.

The guitar has a “dent in the neck, the pickups have no screws as they usually do, and the action is currently set high. The guitar was in a soft gig bag.”

Dinosaur Jr released their latest album I Bet on Sky earlier this year – their third since reforming in 2005.

A picture of the guitar can be seen here. If anyone has any information on the axe, get in touch with the band via email – [email protected] – or by calling 303-998-0001.
