Does Kevin Parker Feature On Kanye West’s New Album?

UPDATE: Turns Out Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker DOES Feature On Kanye West’s New Album

ORIGINAL STORY: Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker has received the shock of his life while listening to Kanye West‘s brand spanking new album YE, upon realising that he might actually feature on it.

Unbeknownst to the Aussie psych legend, Yeezy seemingly used some of his original beats on the LP’s second-last track, ‘Ghost Town’, but didn’t go to the trouble of giving Kev a heads up about it.

Reflecting on the “Holy shit!” moment he experienced when, while streaming the album for the first time yesterday, he recognised his own production featuring a sample of Vanilla Fudge’s 1960’s tune ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’ blaring back at him, KP says he was surprised AF.

“That’s such weird timing! I had this weird premonition of this exact scenario,” the Perth lad tells triple Jexplaining that Kanye had previously invited him to send along any beats he was working on for consideration on his new LP.

“I was like, ‘Oh, he obviously hasn’t used it’. I hadn’t heard anything back and wasn’t invited [to Wyoming] – that doesn’t bode well,” Kev explains.

But when listening to ‘Ghost Town’, he identified Kid Cudi rapping over some chopped up wailing guitar samples that seemed to “use bits” of his original.

However, after originally speaking with triple J about his surprise YE feature, Parker’s team have since reportedly told the station that he may have been mistaken about the whole thing.

We’re awaiting more info & we’ll keep you updated when it comes to hand.
