This Dope Laneway Sideshow Will Be Held On A Secret Aussie Island

All round legends Siberia Records have just announced that they’ll be running a “secret” sideshow for Laneway this year, with Island Getaway 3.0 taking place on Monday 8th February at 6pm at an undisclosed island location in Sydney Harbour with a line up TBA. Mysterious.

Previous years have featured the likes of Jamie XX, Mark Ronson, Connan Mockasin and who could forget Kirin J Callinan‘s exhibitionism and athletic prowess in the water back in 2014, or guest spots in every set in 2015.

The first year being hosted on a party barge and the second year held at Cockatoo Island, for 2016 the Siberia Records crew have secured “a secret Island in the middle of Sydney Harbour never used like this before.” Pretty fucking exciting.

Set to feature “some of the biggest international artists off the Laneway festival (and others)” playing “one off Dj sets and collaborative performances” plus “gourmet food” with T+T (Tyson Koh and Tom Tilley) all on an island in the harbour, if you ask us this looks like way more fun than Laneway.

Following on from the Siberia vs Young Turks 2000+ sell out NYE party in a laneway in Wollongong (Four Tet and Jamie XX making unannounced appearances), this show looks to continue the label’s success pulling of sick parties with surprise lineups.

I guess it helps when the records label is run by musos and not suits. Keep up the good work guys.
