At The Drive-In Perform At Splendour In The Grass 2012

At The Drive In Are Coming Back & Here’s The Proof

Incoming transmission from the one armed scissor.

At The Drive In are getting ready to announce… something. The Texan rock outfit have teased big news on the horizon and it is *definitely* something to do with their comeback. It just has to be. I’ll eat my cracked, dusty Relationship of Command CD if it isn’t.

The band have posted a 15-second video clip on their official Facebook page, featuring an un-Shazamable snippet of music alongside some live performance artwork, together with a piece of text heralding some kind of announcement incoming on January 21st (which is tomorrow, squeeeeeee!)

There’ve already been rumblings that the post-hardcore gods-amongst-men are set to make their glorious return, after they were announced on the lineup for this year’s US Rock On The Range festival (marking their first live show since a string of reunion dates saw them play Splendour In The Grass back in 2012).

However, when the El Paso Times contacted band member Jim Ward, he apparently “seemed rather surprised” by the band’s inclusion on the bill. The paper reports: “Ward said he knew that the band had been listed among performers at the festival, but added that he could neither confirm nor deny whether ATDI would actually be performing at this time.”

Meanwhile, Billboard is reporting that a rep for the festival has confirmed that ATDI have been booked to play, but he or she could not verify who, exactly, would be in the band.

Nup. We just knew that Cedric Bixler-Zavala had been up to more lately than just occasionally fronting Antemsque and going on bizarre pro-Stoner Sloth Twitter rampages.

A new album and Australian tour would be ace fellas, please and thank you.

Check out ATDI’s teaser clip below, and stay tuned for news of their big announcement, which will likely drop some time around Thursday night or Friday morning, Aussie time.

UPDATE 22/01/16: ATDI have confirmed that new music is indeed on the way, as well as announcing both North American and European tour dates. Still holding out for that Aussie tour though!
