Drug Gestapo Sniff Out 200 People At Splendour In The Grass

In another resounding success in the Australian War on Drugs, detection dogs have sniffed out 209 punters at the weekend’s Splendour in the Grass festival in possession of illicit substances. Who’d have thought people would be taking drugs… in Byron Bay… twenty minutes down the road from Nimbin.

One Lismore man was found to be in possession of 80 ecstasy pills. He’ll be facing court, and probably a whole lot of jail time later in the month.

Short of endorsing illicit drug use, we here at Music Feeds are getting pretty sick of the increasingly draconian measures police are using to victimise Australian festival goers. Everyone here at the office has been strip searched at least once just so that the cops could confiscate a joint or two and send us on our merry (un-high) way.
