Sydney-based instrumental trio Dumbsaint have released their first single Don’t Forget To Bring Down The Sky for free download. The uplifting soaring epic comes ahead of their debut album Something That You Will Feel Will Find Its Own Form due out April 3rd through Bird’s Robe Records.
Dumbsaint have become well known for their use of original, synched screen projections in live performance and the single package comes with an accompanying video clip, which fans will recognise from the band’s live shows.
Drawing parallels to artists such as ISIS, Russian Circles and Tool, Dumbsaint’s layered instrumental sound is a considerably darker and more technical approach to the conventions of the ‘post-rock’ genre. Drummer Nick Andrews, guitarist Ron Prince (Adrift for Days) and bass guitarist James Thomas have successfully created their own unique blend of heavy, progressive and ambient sound, with engaging melodies, showcased in the lead single.
The band has developed a strong local following playing alongside numerous local and international acts including Sleep Parade, Sydonia, sleepmakeswaves, TangledThoughts Of Leaving, and Headphones President (JPN). They are well respected amongst the local scene for their attention to detail, and ability to produce a sound greater than the sum of their parts.
In November 2011 Dumbsaint entered Studio 301 with Producer Tim Carr to record their music and first album after 6 years on the live scene. Their debut LP Something That You Feel Will Find Its Own Form is scheduled for release on April 3rd.
The band will celebrate their single release with a launch show in their hometown of Sydney on Friday February 17th:
