Echo fans across Australia have been dealt another blow today with further bad news, this time regarding their appearance at the Melbourne Laneway festival tomorrow. Organisers have just sent out this press release:
The Laneway Festival regrets that Echo & the Bunnymen are no longer to play the Melbourne Laneway Festival tomorrow. Lead singer Ian McCulloch, who was due to arrive in Melbourne tonight, has missed his flight from London and won’t make it to Australia in time for the scheduled performance. At this stage, all other performances are due to go ahead as planned.
We are very pleased to announce that Melbourne party knights Midnight Juggernauts will be performing in their slot.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Please contact [email protected] for further enquiries.
