Eddy Current Suppression Ring Break Hiatus To Headline Golden Plains 2016

Melbourne rock legends Eddy Current Suppression Ring are the first band locked in for the 2016 Golden Plains lineup, with the lads slipping out of a long sabbatical to headline the festival’s Sunday night.

It’s been five years since Eddy Current played their last show together before embarking on an unofficial hiatus of sorts and their return to the Sup’ in 2016 will mark ten years to the day since they played the very first Golden Plains.

“This wonder, this marvel, this sensational and extraordinary phenomenon is not explicable by natural or scientific laws alone and therefore must be attributed to some kind of divine agency,” said an overwhelmed Aunty Meredith in a statement.

The band have said their Golden Plains show will be a “one off” for now, but according to Aunty Meredith the boys “prefer to avoid bold declarations on their future”, meaning the festival set might just be the motivation they need to kick their touring gears into action again.

The 10th anniversary of Golden Plains will take place on March 12th-14th at Meredith’s Supernatural Amphitheatre. The Ballot for tickets is now open, enter via goldenplains.com.au before 10:10pm Tuesday 20th October.
