Elbow Start on Follow Up to Latest Album

English indie rock band Elbow have already started work on a follow up to their latest album Build A Rocket Boys!. Guy Garvey spoke to the Daily Mirror, explaining that the band are still at very early stages of the process, but are trying a new technique to come up with new material for their sixth release.

“Rich [drummer Richard Jupp] went into the studio and recorded several different drum patterns for me,” the singer explains.

“I’ll go away next week and try and write lyrics for them. We’ve never worked this way before, but we’ll see what happens.”

Elbow will be playing on this year’s Splendour in the Grass line up in late July. They’ve also announced a number of sideshows as well.

Elbow’s fifth studio album, Build a Rocket Boys! is out now.
